Air Borne Remote Sensing Project Coordinator

 

This individual will work with a dedicated team of military and contractor personnel pursuing cutting edge technology in air to ground imaging and remote intelligence detection systems.  They will assist the Air Force program manager in administering projects both laboratory and field experiments.  Recent experience managing military research projects is highly desired.

Must have experience and be comfortable with interfacing with military hierarchies to prepare and implement such things as system and experiment requirements documents, program plans, visiting experiments plans and documentation, mission plans, operational briefings, test result briefings, environmental assessments, flight safety requirements, OSHA requirements and documentation, laboratory safety plans, laser safety plans and requirements, system configuration control plans.  Must have good personal interfacing skills for project coordination between multiple organizations.  Must be able to use software tools such as PowerPoint, Xcel, and MS-Word to prepare briefings and reports.  Some familiarity with laser and image system optics is a plus. BS in Engineering or Management, 2 – 4 Years Job Experience in Engineering/Program Management.  Experience Using CAD.  Extensive travel may be involved with remote deployments as long as 12 weeks.
 

 


Senior Electronics Engineer

 

Applied Technology Associates is seeking a senior electronics engineer to join a small team of dedicated professionals involved in state of the art Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems under contract to the Air Force Research Laboratory.  Much of the work will be involved with suites of imaging sensors mounted in compact air borne ball turrets.  The successful candidate must have pc-board level electronic design experience and be able to upgrade and modify existing designs.  Experience with C++ programming, embedded processors with FPGA design and programming required. Duties will involve design and trouble shooting of wiring harnesses, interfacing of visible and infrared CCD, CMOS, InSb cameras, and use of Camera Link, Hot Link, LVDS, Universal asynchronous receiver transmitters (UART) interfaces.  Knowledge of fiber optic data transmission systems a big plus as well as compact pulsed and CW laser power supplies.  BS in electrical engineering or Physics is required MS preferred. At least 5 years related experience demonstrating proficiency in most or all of the above areas is required.  Candidate must be able to support periodic test schedules, which may include extended periods of odd duty hours. Some travel with remote duty assignments as long as 3 months required.
